So much happens in the world that’s beyond what we can control. All the wise people say the “outside” is a reflection of our “inside.” Well !@#$ what’s going on in there? For each and every one of us. Life keeps throwing more lemons than we do have sweetener and water, or so it feels like. But sometimes we forget that we make the sugar, honey and stevia ourselves, too. It just takes more work to do that, when we feel like we’re being held by a thread.
Amongst life’s overwhelm, I’ve forgotten how to play, create and connect to what I enjoy. It’s like I’m here, but not here, and I’m trying to be here 🙂 I’m either in the past, or the future, where really– I’d like to be in the present.
And I think that’s one of the problems in the world–many of us have forgotten how to play, create and connect.
Our attention is so precious. It’s liquid gold. Millions of companies pay HUGE amounts of currency to capture it, even for a second. Now what if we valued ourselves that much? Except intrinsically.
I’ve been exploring this book called The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. I’ve referred and sent it to dozens of friends, but yet I don’t think I’ve ever seriously attempted to do it. Now, I want to seriously do it 🙂
So far, so good. My mind is finally making space to allow me space to do things I didn’t know I could do, only to realize it when reflecting the week.
One of the most important exercises is the morning pages. It’s amazing, it’s like you empty your mind onto three pages of paper, and never look back, without self judgement. The goal is to do this each day. The benefits can be realized after a couple days, at least for me. It’s the best mental detox anyone could do, a mental potty break.
Kindly be inspired to share this, especially if it's a benefit to someone. Thank You SpiritYourStyle is Social on FB, Twitter, Instagram 🙂
